A person walks alone in a vast, dimly lit space, casting a long shadow in the sunlight streaming through. Moody, monochrome atmosphere.
Don't conform to this world. Be transformed by renewing your mind.

Hello everyone, and welcome to a new week. I pray this week is full of blessings and wisdom. Today, we will be focusing on a popular scripture that many people have probably memorized.

Scripture: Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. Romans 12:2

I love this scripture. It is clear and concise. This scripture instructs us how to live, but it can be difficult to apply. It is easy to adopt the ways of this world, as they are enticing and constantly in our faces. To renew our minds, it takes commitment and intentionality. We must read the Word of God to understand it and then apply it to our lives. It is more than possible to renew our minds, but it depends on how much we desire to be transformed. A transformed mind is clear, focused, and able to see the world like Jesus does. It’s able to understand God’s perfect will, which is good, pleasing, and perfect. An unrenewed mind will view God’s will as scary, uncomfortable, and painful because it lacks the understanding of the Word of God that helps us perceive God’s Will correctly. God’s Will is for our good, so it does not matter how difficult life may become, if it’s in God’s Will then we know every event in our lives will be used for our good (Romans 8:28). Only a renewed mind will understand that every trial that God allows is to bring us back to the person God created when He made us. God is good, perfect, and acceptable, and so is His Will for His children. Renew your mind with the Word of God and be transformed.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for Your word that renews our minds. Help us not to copy the ways of this world. Give us a desire and hunger for You, so we will read the Bible and apply it to our lives before other resources. Amen.

Did this Bible verse help you today? What did you learn from this scripture? How can you apply Romans 12:2 to your life this week?
