We are God's house

Welcome to a new week and month. I’m grateful to see another March, how about you?

This week, we will focus on Hebrews 3:6. I like this scripture because it reminds me that I am God’s house.

Scripture: But Christ, as the Son, is in charge of God’s entire house. And we are God’s house, if we keep our courage and remain confident in our hope in Christ. Hebrews 3:6

When I read this scripture recently, I got excited. The fact that I am God’s house made me feel special. I then reread the scripture and noticed a keyword “if.” That word changed the way I engaged with this scripture. So, I read the scripture like this, “if I keep my courage and remain confident in my hope in Jesus then I am God’s house.” We have a part to play in this scripture. There is something that is required of us, to keep our courage and remain confident, then we will be God’s house. At times, that is easier said than done. When we don’t get the desired outcome or something unexpected happens, our courage and hope take a hit. It is important to address how we feel and share those feelings with God so He can help us retrieve our courage and confident hope in Jesus. Then we will be God’s house once again. Belief and confidence in Jesus are key to our walk with God.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for this scripture today. I want to be God’s house, so Holy Spirit, help me keep my courage and remain confident in my hope in Christ. If I have lost my courage and hope, Lord, I ask you to restore it. I can’t do this without You. Thank Jesus in advance for answering my prayer. Amen.
