God knows everything we say and think.

Welcome to a new week. Let’s meditate on the Word of God and keep our focus on God. This week, we will think about our thoughts and our words.

Scripture: Then the Spirit of the Lord came upon me, and he told me to say, “This is what the Lord says to the people of Israel: I know what you are saying, for I know every thought that comes into your minds. Ezekiel 11:5

This scripture scares me; how about you? God is so God. He knows every detail about us, including things we may not know about ourselves. That means there is nothing we can hide from God and nothing we can present to Him that is too over the top or horrible. This should not cause us to not go before God with shame, but this is an invitation to ask God to help us be intentional with our words and remove any thoughts that don’t honor Him.

Prayer: Lord, I’m thankful that I serve a God who knows everything about me, including my thoughts. Help me, Holy Spirit, to be mindful of what I say and to have a mind that honors and glorifies God. Amen.

Did this Bible verse help you today? What did you learn from this scripture? How can you apply Ezekiel 11:5 to your life this week?
