For Memorial weekend in 2022, my parents decided to visit my dad's side of the family. So, I began searching for hotels in the area and came across Pompano Beach. I did not know this city existed, but they had a beach there, so I instantly wanted to visit. Thus, our family travel adventure was set in motion, and I began searching for local restaurants and scenic attractions. I love trying new restaurants and visiting scenic places while traveling. So, I searched for plant-based restaurants and came across The Rabbit Hole vegan restaurant. The reviews and menu look great however they were closed and would open the next day and by then I would already be back home. So, we had Burger Fi instead.

This was my first time eating at this restaurant. I had a vegetable burger with fries. The bread was soft and yummy, and the patty was well-seasoned. I enjoyed my meal there overall.
I never had aioli sauce before so once I saw garlic aioli on the menu, I knew I had to try it. I ordered the fries topped with garlic aioli, parmesan, and fresh herbs and it was surprisingly yummy and fulfilling. These fries could be a meal by itself. I wasn’t fully committed to the plant-based lifestyle, so at times, I did eat foods that weren’t plant-based but not too often.

We then visited Pompano Beach and the fishing pier. It was so hot that day that I considered returning to the hotel room. We decided to go anyway since we didn’t know when we would visit again. The beach wasn’t too crowded, which was refreshing, however, to me the sand didn’t feel the best. It was rough and uncomfortable to walk on.

The fishing pier was wide and clean with shaded areas with benches to sit and enjoy the view of the water. There were plenty of people fishing, and birds waiting for someone to give them their next meal. Overall, Pompano Beach is on my list of places to visit in Florida.
